Question: Why do you need to have women’s groups and a local community plan in place for the education of women in order for my group to be in partnership with To Love Children Educational Foundation International?

Answer: Let me begin by using the following quotes to emphasis the literature in the field that bears out that through education of women and girls there can be significant change in the live of not only the girls and women but the entire community as well. One of the strongest traditions in the areas where we work is the idea that sons should be educated first because they will return the investment by taking care of the family. Girls are married at an early age and move to their husband’s family, hence less likely to bring in any monetary income to the parents. The incentive to educate her and use scant resources is diminished or non existent.

To Love Children is working to create sustainable girl child education through the promotion of women micro enterprise development projects. We can see no better advocate for the girl child.

Question: What does self programs and sustainable educational development mean?

Answer: To Love Children is a primarily an educational based organization. Our work is based on the work, research of the literature in the field of educational development. This research states and bears evidence in the developing world where education and opportunity exist, local communities create the means for their development. We are in the business of providing educational tools and resources. Our job is to help communities to help themselves.

Answer: G.I.R.L. Girl International Resource Learning Educational Program

• Create sustainable educational development opportunities for girl children
• Promote community education curriculum programs that builds functional literacy for women
• Educates on the issue of gender awareness
• Educates on the topics of health as well as environment awareness, micro-business, informational technology, vocational training, and early childhood education
• Plans for and creates educational support of a community by creating a resource center and library that houses a child care center, health center, meeting room for women, micro-business classes

Speak up Speak out Education Advocacy Program

• Conducts and facilitates meetings with appropriate government, private, education officials to gather support in order to effect change through legislation and funding
• Advocate and teach child rights education based on the Convention on the Rights of the Child
• Conduct workshops to educate the public the reasons for the right to girl education
• Publishes books and Global Child Journal written by experts and children themselves
• Provides Youth Based Solutions through our youth advisory board a volunteer youth program—Kids Council in order that children and youth can make decisions and take actions to help other children all over the world

Question: How do I partner with To Love Children? What is the application process?

Answer: To Love Children Educational Foundation International supports Educational oriented NGO’s and women’s groups that develop sustainable education opportunities nationally and internationally for the girl child by; offering programs of education, resources, skills, and training. We do this by providing limited funding in small incremental steps that includes a plan for sustainability of your program. We attach importance to working with local experts and believe that education is the solution for breaking the cycle of poverty. We are primarily an Education based NGO providing trainings and workshops as well as educational resources.

• Registered as a non-profit officially in a developing country as defined by the United Nations
• Education development oriented mission that focus on the girl child
• Women groups and local community plan in place to educate for women literacy and education
• Expert in the culture, customs, language, and needs of the people you serve and can provide facts and a written proposal defining a program that is in alignment of To Love Children’s established programs
• Has means to contribute human capital or other resources to the program
• Self sustaining plan to continue the program
• Can demonstrate a strong commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child
• Projects and programs are not affiliated with any political or religious organization or theme.

Priorities:

To Love Children Educational Foundation International receives dozens of requests and proposals each year and can only accept a few. We are looking to NGO’s that are willing to partner in the long term working to share expertise, information and resources so that we all benefit collectively from each other. We are stronger together. We will give priority to organizations that:

• Are educationally oriented and can identify needs and work in small steps.
• Are collaborating with providing the means for independence to benefit the community and local women’s groups
• Are developing or created a sustainable means to provide funding back into their education program
• Are working with children that are displaced, disabled in any capacity, orphans, children abused in any capacity, street children and child soldiers
• Have a volunteer program in place or the means to create one

In Addition, please note that To Love Children does NOT fund the following:

• Schools administration costs, any salaries or any program basic operation costs
• Research
• Educational Resources that need yearly replacing such as notebooks, pencils, uniforms, school bags etc
• Humanitarian Aid or materials that are NOT educational or sustainable

Please submit a proposal in English if possible by e-mail to Proposals@tolovechildren.org. After you submit a proposal, a notice of receipt will be sent within three weeks of its arrival. There are no proposal deadlines. We can not meet urgent requests at this time. Since we are looking for proposals that are set in stages and educationally oriented we will be in touch for clarification and to seek your willingness to work toward a long term partnership.

We are looking to create self sustaining groups that can then partner with To Love Children to help other groups with information, expertise and resources when appropriate. Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty through education and therefore create the means for growth in a larger partnership with To Love Children. In this spirit we will seek out through our network of partners to provide aid when possible where it is not in the scope of our criteria.

Answer: We are now working in India, Africa and South America. As we grow as an organization our future is to expand to the entire globe encompassing all developing countries.

Question: What is the Global Child Journal?

Answer: Global Child Journal "No child left behind" Sharing information on Educational Development in the developing world: It’s what we do. "It’s all about understanding that the future lies in the hands of the Global child."

The Global Child Journal is a new multidisciplinary journal providing articles to help specialists and non specialists keep up with research on and developmental efforts to improve educational opportunities for children. Each issue will cover a specific topic from various perspectives.
